Pygmalion Theme

"Don't judge a book by its cover." It's safe to say everyone has heard this before. Think about a time when you saw someone and made an assumption. I think everyone has done it at one time or another. In the book, Pygmalion, Mr. Higgins told Eliza Doolittle that he treats everyone equally. Thats a great quality to have.
Teenagers seem to already have a preconceived notion about someone before getting to know them. We judge and are judged on a daily basis. Sometimes, that person can be the opposite of what you thought.  We should not "judge a book by its cover".
My experience that relates to this theme was while I was at camp. This girl had purple hair and was quiet all of the time. I automatically labeled her as gothic. One day, we were put in a group together. It turns out, she was really nice, and we even had the same taste in music. We became friends. That's an example of why you should not judge someone by their appearance.
We should try to treat everyone with an equal amount of respect. It's a characteristic of a successful person. Everyone is different in their own way and deserves to be respected.
